Still working on the Sake Package (Problem with LTS)

Hi Everyone,

So the Sake Glassware Prop Pack and Modular Build Kit ver 4.0 is up and running. However I felt that I wasn’t quite done with the package. I needed just a few more models and a few more structures. I actually got an idea that instead of just structures, I should make rooms. Fully made rooms you can just drop into a scene and make a quick unique setting. I wanted to take advantage of the nested prefab feature on Unity 2018.3.0

However something I didn’t realized on version 2018.3.0 is how it lacks backwards compatibility with the latest LTS
ver. 2017.4.17f1 of Unity. When I started creating packages for the asset store, I first thought that I needed to take advantage of Unity latest version because I myself want to keep up with the new features of the engine. You spend hundreds upon hundreds of hours developing each package. I decided if i’m going to be using Unity extensively, I might as well use the latest version and keep myself up to date.

I was naive to think that the basic function of prefabs were not going to be an issue when exporting to a previous version. I received a delightful comment from a reviewer on the Wine Liquor Beer and Glassware package that suggested that they were unable use the new Sake Glassware Prop Pack and Modular Build Kit that they purchased because its not compatible with the LTS version of Unity.

I needed to investigate, and they were correct it simply does not work, the prefabs are broken. I found some documentation with the same errors that I’m getting on how to fix it, but it’s not working. Now i’m on this crash course to correct the issue. I feel I need to go back to every package that I have up on the asset store that uses ver 2018.2.0 and 2018.3.0 and have a secondary ver. 2017.4.17f1 available. However, before I do that, I need to first be able to fix the core issue within a reasonable amount of time without rebuilding the entire package from scratch. I hope I figure it out quickly.
